Nikolai Gumilev

Николай Гумилёв (Nikolai Gumilev or Nikolay Gumilyov in English; 1886–1921) was an influential Russian poet, literary critic, traveler, and military officer. He was a cofounder of the Acmeist movement. He was arrested and executed by the Cheka, the Soviet secret police force, in 1921. He was the husband of Anna Akhmatova and the father of Lev Gumilev.
