Pablo Neruda

Pablo Neruda (born Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto) was a Chilean poet-diplomat and politician. He published his first poems in 1923. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1971.

Pablo Neruda was originally his pen name but later became his legal name. The name was derived from the Czech poet Jan Neruda.
