James Hadley Chase (born: René Lodge Brabazon Raymond) was an English writer. He has a reputation as the king of thriller writers in Europe. He was an international best-selling author, and over 50 of his books have been made into films. He wrote under various pseudonyms, including James L. Docherty, Raymond Marshall, R. Raymond, and Ambrose Grant.
