W. Ray Scott

W. Ray Scott (born 1913 – died 1987) was an international travel writer and world renowned photographer noted for his expertise in cave photography. He was US National Parks Concessions photographer and public relations director from 1946-1967. Prior to that, he was an enrollee of the Civilian Conservation Corps where he was assigned to photograph construction progress. In 2018, Ray’s family donated 20,000 of his photographs to Western Kentucky University’s Department of Library Special Collections and they will be accessible to the public.
