Marco Romano

He worked in the construction site of Giovanni Pisano for the cathedral of Siena, sculpting the figures of the portal of the counter-fa├žade.
Called to Cremona by Ranieri Aringhieri, bishop of the city, he realizes the saints Imerio and Omobono, in addition to the Virgin with the child, in the porch of the cathedral.
After 1309, the year of the death of Beltramo Aringhieri said Messer Porrina, brother of the Cremonese bishop, sculpts the funeral monument in the Collegiate of Santa Maria Assunta in Casole d'Elsa (SI), the country of origin of the client.
In 1318 he was in Venice where he signed the saint Simeon in the church of San Simeone prophet in Venice, signed in an inscription stylistically close to that appeared in the funeral monument of bishop Thomas d'Andrei sculpted by Gano di Fazio around 1303, always in collegiate of Casole.
