The Leonardo Arte was commissioned by Leonardo Mondadori in 1992 and derives from the "Leonardo - De Luca srl", founded in 1987 in Rome, with the aim of publishing art, fiction and non-fiction books.
In 1993 the denomination became "Leonardo Arte srl" and the headquarters was transferred to Milan. Later it became part of the "Leonardo Group" (in this regard, see the Census sheets relating to "Leonardo Editore" and "Leonardo Periodici").
In 1995 Reteitalia, owner of Leonardo Arte, sold the company to Elemond. In 2000 Leonardo Arte was incorporated into Elemond and therefore exists only as a brand.
