Harry Harrison (born Henry Maxwell Dempsey) was an American science fiction author known for Make Room! Make Room! (1966), which inspired the film Soylent Green (1973). Harrison's series characters included the Stainless Steel Rat and Bill, the Galactic Hero.

Harrison worked with Wally Wood an artist on Weird Fantasy and Weird Science for EC Comics.
