I own this and what appears to be it's companion in hardcover form w/ DJ but ISBN and Amazon says it's a paperback:
Can someone explain this to me?
Neither Amazon or ISBN Search are official sources, so I wouldn't worry about them. Things are often wrong on Amazon, and the only source for the ISBN Search data seems to be Amazon.
What is an official source. Can you direct me to one? Thanks for the prompt reply, mirva :)
I have a two other books that i need info/confirmation on. One is an Olympic bid book for the IOC by Tokyo from 1940 which can be seen here (end of video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md-l0FilmzM
And the other is a box set for S.J. Gould which has no ISBN other than the individual books which match other variants of the same title. How do i catalog these? Box set can be seen at beginning of video or here:
That is my son in both vid and pic :)
That's a lot of science books. :-)
An official source would be a publisher, or an author website. Other possibly reliable websites would be libraries, and other professional cataloguing websites.
Unfortunately as it seems that the book is in Chinese, I'm not going to be much help with that. Hopefully someone familiar with Chinese sees this thread.

I only found this, and a couple of small references on other books:

The system is not quite ideal for box sets - at least not yet - but it can be done.
Here's an example what I did a while ago:
Here's a slightly different solution:
